Ann Romney, wife of Republican candidate Mitt Romney, stood staunchly by her man in an interview with CBS News and said the American people are missing out on seeing how “approachable” her husband is because the Obama campaign is pursuing a strategy of “let’s kill this guy.”
Ann was referring to a leaked document from President Obama’s campaign back in August that said in light of the poor economy the best strategy for the president was “kill Romney.”
“That was their memo that came out from their campaign,” Ann Romney said. “And it’s like, ‘not when I’m next to him you better not.”
Ann Romney said that portrayals of her husband are “just completely wrong.”
“They don’t get him at all,” she said.
She said that it was “all backwards” for her to be viewed as more approachable than Mitt.
Seated next to his wife, Mitt said “with time” the American people would discover his true self.
Romney’s true financial self is becoming more apparent to the American people, as recent stories show that the Romneys hold offshore accounts in places like Bermuda that could mean $190-$250 million net worth estimated by his campaign could actually be much higher.
Ann Romney also said the vice presidential choice is something she has been thinking a lot about.
“It’s gonna take someone else that’s gonna be there with Mitt, that Mitt will enjoy, with the same personality type that will enjoy spending time with them, and also competent, capable, and willing to serve this country,” she said. The couple was scheduled to meet up yesterday with one of the possibilities, New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte, at a 4th of July parade in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.
