Jeff Green hit a buzzer beater 3-pointer to lift the Boston Celtics to a 111-110 win over the Miami Heat on Saturday night.

“I have confidence in every shot I have,” Green said. “When it left, I had a good feeling it would go in. It went in.”

Gerald Wallace passed the ball to Green who was in the far right corner, he released the ball over a contesting LeBron James, and the Celtics won the game after the shot was confirmed through video review.

“I’m glad we still had time left on the clock,” Boston coach Brad Stevens said. “It is proof that in this game if you score quickly, you are going to have a chance to at least shoot the ball if the other team misses free throws.

“It was a great play by Jeff Green, but it is fortunate to even get a shot off in that moment.”

With 0.6 seconds left in the game, Miami was up 110-108 with Dwayne Wade on the free throw line. He missed the first free throw and then tried to deliberately bounced the second one off rim to burn time. His second shot missed the rim entirely, saving the 1.6 seconds on the clock, and allowing Boston to call a time out to set up the last play.

“I was trying to hit the rim, down a little bit,” said Wade. “It didn’t go where it was supposed to go.”

Green scored 24 points in the game and was 5-of-8 on 3-pointers.
