The report found that more than 50% of the time, Amazon actually had higher prices than other online retailers.

Thankfully, there are tools available to help you find the best price. announced it will be launching a new service called PriceJump, which automatically compares Amazon prices with product prices around the web. research found that when it came to purchases of more than $100, PriceJump beat Amazon’s prices about 70% of the time.

Now that the economy is slightly better, comparison shopping isn’t as popular as it used to be. But just because someone says they always get good deals at a particular store doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do a little leg work.
