Sources with local police told the website Thomas, who is opening a location of Club One in Miami, is being held without bond in after a warrant from Louisiana was issued for the entrepreneur allegedly writing fraudulent checks.
He had just been in Kingston, Jamaica on Feb. 28 and told his Instagram followers he was “trying to get some business done.”
The fraud incident has reminded some of Phaedra Parks’ ex-husband Apollo Nida who is currently in federal prison serving an eight-year sentence stemming from charges of conspiring to commit mail, wire and bank fraud. Nida had been arrested in 2014 for creating bogus businesses, phony bank accounts and using stolen checks while defrauding car lenders.
Speaking about Nida to Sister 2 Sister magazine at the time, Thomas kept mum on the star’s prison sentence but said his friend is “a really nice guy.”
During the time both men were on the show and after their exit, Thomas has regularly supported Nida and even gave hope that the father of two would get an early prison release when he said on Instagram, “My dude is getting ready to come HOME” in June.
Viewers of “RHOA” immediately went the “birds of a feather flock together route” when discussing his arrest and comparing Thomas to Nida.
“No wonder he was team Apollo. He with the same s—.”
“I guess that would explain why he so close to apollo lol.”
“Watch the company you keep….been taking advice from Apollo, huh? Too busy worrying about fake hair meanwhile you’re signing fake checks?!! Smh.”
“probably why Peter, went all out to support Apollo birds of a kind…..”
