David Strathairn Joins Legendary Pictures' Godzilla

David Strathairn is the latest actor to join Legendary Pictures’ 2014 reboot of the classic fire-breathing dragon, Godzilla. While the script and other details of the film are closely guarded, something about this big secret must good enough to attract the likes of Strathairn. In addition to acquiring the veteran actor, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen and Juliette Binoche have also been attracted to the project like moths to bright lights.

Godzilla will be helmed by newcomer Gareth Edwards, who came on the scene after his low budget film, Monsters, became a instant sci-fi classic. Hiring Edwards is a new trend in Hollywood, where studios are taking big chances  by financing these big budget films with directors with little to no credits.

Strathairn is best known for his work in Spielberg’s Lincoln and both The Bourne Ultimatum and The Bourne Legacy.

Godzilla, the scrpit that Max Borenstein and Dave Callaham have teamed up to write, is aiming for a May 16, 2014 release date.  As we get closer to the date, we expect more details to come out so just be patient and hopeful that Edwards will capitalizes on his big opportunity.
