Fans Slam ‘Socially Inept’ Kanye West for Exclusively Casting ‘Multiracial’ Women in Fashion Show

Kanye West hosted a casting call for his Yeezy Season 4 runway and only welcomed “multiracial” women.
The fashion designer posted the notice on his Facebook page Sept. 3 and held the meeting yesterday in New York City’s Jack Studios.

The notice starkly contrasts the women in his Yeezy Season 3 fashion show in February. According to Fashionista, it showcased an array of skin tones in supermodel Naomi Campbell, Ethiopian cover girl Liya Kebede and South Sudanese British model/designer Alek Wek.
Because of that, fans soon began to wonder why he only sought the exclusive group of women, which he noted needed to arrive makeup-free.
@zephaniiiah admitted his fandom but called the MC “socially inept.” He also called out the favoritism for light skinned women.
I love Kanye West but even I have to admit that man is socially inept. "Multiracial Women Only" is a very subtle way of saying "Lightskins"

@such_A_frknlady hilariously shared a photo of self-described trans-racial Rachel Dolezal arriving for the casting call.

Meanwhile, Bri Malandro wondered if participants needed to bring proof of their ancestry.
@kanyewest do they need to bring their https://t.co/ZJLx6HlVaq dna results to the call or…..

@mcbc pointed out how questionable the call was after West prominently featured musician Teyana Taylor in his “Fade” music video at last month’s MTV Video Music Awards.

@queensiahb wondered if she qualified for having parentage like Beyoncé.
So if my daddy Alabama & my mama Louisiana, can I come??? @kanyewest

While @MJStarLover provided West with a mini education on what multiracial women can truly look like.
@kanyewest gonna have his people check the DNA of all dark skin models when they come in. His color struck ass is gonna be so surprised. Lol

Perhaps one reason for the surprise stems from West’s remarks on “race mixing” in the past. In the Dec. 2006 issue of Essence, he referred to multiracial women as “mutts.”
“If it wasn’t for race mixing there’d be no video girls. Me and most of our friends like mutts a lot. Yeah, in the hood they call ‘em mutts,” he explained.
Still, some had no issue with the notice.
Some people are really getting mad at Kanye's casting call even though multiracial people have been excluded from calls for decades

Ten Toes Down said the “fake outrage” was too much.
Black people can be so annoying sometimes.
This fake outrage over Kanye is tew much.

And Negrito called out West for making “the lighter [women] move to the back” in previous shows.
How y'all mad Kanye wants Multiracial girls when he had dark girls hella times in his shows and even made the lighter ones move to the back?
