Sometimes false accusers get away with their wrongdoing and sometimes they don’t. In Gilbert Arenas‘ case the latter occurred.

In June of this year, Arenas was hit with a restraining order by a woman named Janelle Reeves, who accused him of harassing her with a sex tape that he threatened to release to her 10-year-old son. Reeves said she was involved with the former NBA player for two years, and when they parted ways he sought revenge.

“He said he was waiting to get my son’s cell phone number from his son so that he could send my child naked photos of me and video of Arenas and I having sex and video of me naked,” she alleged.

Reeves also said she once gave into Arenas’s sexual demands out of fear when he banged on the door and entered her home.

But from the very beginning, Arenas accused Reeves of lying and he sued her for defamation, plus, 10 million because he lost his job at Yahoo Sports due to the accusation.

The case was thrown out earlier this month, and now Reeves has to pay up, according to Arenas’ attorney David Bass.

“[Reeves] resolved the dispute by paying Mr. Arenas an undisclosed amount for his damages and confirming that the restraining order action of June 2018 was meritless, filed with fabricated documents and therefore, filed without cause,” Bass told TMZ Sports

At this time, there’s no word on how much Reeves had to pay, and Arenas hasn’t confirmed the amount either, not on social media or anywhere else.
