Jamie Foxx and Spike Lee disagree on Django Unchained Jamie Foxx and Spike Lee aren’t seeing eye to eye on Foxx’s new film ‘Django Unchained’ which has already received much criticism for it’s controversial plot and use of language.

Spike Lee said he wouldn’t go see “Django Unchained” because he felt like it was “disrespectful” to his ancestors.

So what was Jamie’s response to someone accusing him of “disrespecting” his ancestors? Be disrespectful to them as well.

Spike stated that he feels as if his ancestors wouldn’t approve of the film – along with many other movie goers who didn’t necessarily appreciate the movie. So it’s only adding insult to injury to insult him as well and to do it publicly when Lee never called out Foxx for being a part of the movie.

“I respect Spike, he’s a fantastic director,” Jamie said before the full on bashing began. “But he gets a little shady when he’s taking shots at his colleagues without looking at the work. To me, that’s irresponsible.”

Jamie Foxx calls out Spike Lee for not seeing Django Unchained Despite how the 45-year-old actor felt about Spike’s criticisms he could have reached out to him in private instead of making a public feud out of the director’s opinion.

Even when the “Do the Right Thing” director commented on the film he made it clear that he was expressing nothing more than his personal opinion. While many other big name celebrities have tried to influence others not to see the movie, Spike simply shared his opinion and didn’t actually call on others to shun the movie.

“I can’t speak on it ‘cause I’m not gonna see it,” Spike said in December. “All I’m going to say is that it’s disrespectful to my ancestors. That’s just me… I’m not speaking on behalf of anybody else.”

That didn’t stop the “Django Unchained” actor from taking a jab at the famous filmmaker who apparently “doesn’t like anybody.”

Jamie Foxx Spike Lee Django Unchained feud “The question for me is: where’s Spike Lee coming from?” Foxx questioned. “He didn’t like Whoopi Goldberg, he doesn’t like Tyler Perry, he doesn’t like anybody, I think he’s sort of run his course.”

That’s right. In addition to saying he doesn’t agree with Mr. Lee he also bashed him as a filmmaker claiming that his time is up in the film industry. Yikes.

Even if Jamie didn’t like what Lee said, it’s also important to note that Lee wasn’t even addressing him – instead he made it clear that his problem was with Quentin Tarantino.

“I’m not against the word… and I use it,” the “Inside Man” director explained about the movie’s use of the N-word. “…but Quentin is infatuated with the word. What does he want? To be made an honorary black man?”

Jamie had something to say about that too as he insisted that the color of Tarantino’s skin shouldn’t have anything to do with how the movie is received by others.

Jamie Foxx Spike Lee feud of Django Unchained “You can’t tell me that Eminem ain’t hot ‘cus he’s white or that Elvis Presley isnt’ a bad motherf***er,” said the “Law Abiding Citizen” actor. “…or that Quentin Tarantino can’t do whatever he likes, ‘cus damn straight he can.”

While he didn’t’ articulate his point very well, he makes a good point. The race of the director should have nothing to do with how people see the movie and whether or not they think it’s insulting or acceptable.

Either way, we just really wish Jamie would have passed on attacking Spike and reached out to him privately to discuss their opposing opinions if he really need to get it off his chest.
