Nicki Minaj’s galvanizing Pepsi commercial, “Live for Now,” along with the legendary Michael Jackson- themed ad was announced last week, and this week fans get a chance to see an extended cut of the 3D work-of-art online.
Joining a flock of other famous celebrities in the past, including superstar Beyonce, to keep their name on the tongues of consumers, the beverage company is aiming to strategize well enough to knock their competitor—Coke—out of the number one spot.
For Minaj’s effort, the ad is oh-so-Nicki! There are striking bright colors, stills full of animation, and the 29-year-old even gets frozen, all while a remix of her song, “Moment 4 Life” is played.
Bursting with excitement, the “Beez In The Trap” rapper took to Twitter: , “Hey Barbz!!!! -Check out my new Pepsi commercial here!!! and then tell @Pepsi how you #livefornow! #teamminaj.” She then gushed in another tweet, “Wait til u c the 30 second spot :)”
“The ‘Live for Now’ positioning will inform the way Pepsi behaves as a brand and is a fantastic filter through which to create exciting and innovative partnerships with some of the world’s leading artists and entertainment properties,” Simon Lowden, chief marketing officer, Pepsi Beverages Company, said in a press release.
Another cool factor about the commercial? It’s available in 3D!
The site offers many viewing options, including a “no glasses” option that reveals the 3-D visuals when one watches the video “cross eyed” per YouTube’s wording. And if you already have 3D glasses: you can also tune the clip to red/cyan, blue/yellow or green/magenta settings.
While some Coke drinkers aren’t that pressed on the offering, “It’s going to take more than whatever this is to make me switch from Coke :),” tell us what you think of the clip below.
