Tamar Braxton’s relationship with her hunky Nigerian boyfriend appears to be over.
On the star’s Instagram Story Tuesday, she posted two messages indicating she and her man, whom she’s referred to as T’Chella, Yemi, and Wakanda, have called it quits.
“I’m single…ready to mingle tho, ” Braxton said in a since-deleted memo on her Story that day. She also uploaded a photo that read, “Trust No ONE.”
The messages came after Braxton went on Instagram Live that night during a couples dinner with her sisters. The moment was captured on film as part of the newest season of “Braxton Family Values” as the family took a trip to Napa Valley, California.
Braxton looked visibly annoyed while her boyfriend draped his arm around her while he discussed the beverage offerings at Bar Chix with owner Trina Braxton. When Tamar’s namesake drink, The Tamartian, was mentioned, T’Chella — whose real name was revealed to be David earlier in Braxton’s stream — said, “What was in The Tamartian? I gotta know because I got a Tamartian over here.”
Apparently, matters got worse when Trina’s boyfriend Von Scales popped the question as cameras rolled. Doing so when the trip was said to be a celebration of the singer’s birthday, which was earlier this month, further upset Tamar.
In response to Tamar’s relationship ending, many fans have been weighing in.
“Damn as sooooooooon as you post a nigga ”
“When she said he didn’t date black women I was like Never ever trust a negro that don’t date black women. It’ll never work if your BLACK #justsaying Happy she got outta that sitch.”
“Not surprised. Girl is not yet legally divorced. Be alone for a while.”
The apparent split of Tamar and David comes nine months into their courtship. Tamar initially gave fans glimpses of her boyfriend when they lounged by the pool last summer. After initially not confirming she had a new man, she finally admitted she was off the market (although she still has a divorce to finalize with estranged husband Vincent Herbert) during a stop on “The Wendy Williams Show” in September 2018.
“Thank you, God, he’s so fine! I can’t take it sometimes. It’s like a whole snack — a Lunchable! He lives in L.A., he’s originally from Nigeria, but he lived here for a while,” she told the talk show host.
Even during her month away on “Celebrity Big Brother,” the two apparently maintained their union as David seemingly sent her a sweet letter professing his love to her. And he recently was moved to dance as Tamar belt out “Superwoman.”
