The internet had a field day with comedian Tiffany Haddish mispronouncing the names of some Oscar nominees and films.
Haddish revealed the 2018 Oscar nominees with Andy Serkis and had some trouble pronouncing the names. She pronounced the “Get Out” star Daniel Kaluuya as ‘Daniel Kalaluyah’ and struggled with tongue-twisting titles such as “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”.
Although she stole the heart of the public, she apologized for mispronouncing the nominees’ names. She accidentally mispronounced ‘Best Writer Adapted Screenplay’ nominee Michael H. Weber and he tweeted, “Tiffany Haddish can mispronounce my name any way she wants! WOOOOOOO.” Kaluuya told Deadline,” I couldn’t feel more honored to have Tiffany Haddish mispronounce my name.”
I am so sorry I can say your name. I just felt like I was a substitute teacher in a Key and Peele skit. I was having a unreal experience. So Greatful your are cool Congratulations! https://t.co/kKyzWdtoNK https://t.co/RWNRQpi6HS

Others attempted to pull Haddish down. Author Devin Scillian tweeted “Half of Twitter thinks @TiffanyHaddish was delightful in slaughtering the names of the #Oscars noms – the other half (and me) not amused.”
Despite his thoughts, Scillian was in fact in the minority. Many users expressed their love for Haddish and conveyed that the “Girls Trip” actress should be the one to host the Oscars.
Tiffany Haddish has me laughing like a fool this morning—she should host everything.
Not pronouncing anything correctly and I AM HERE FOR IT.
