It’s safe to say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in Reginae Carter and Lil Wayne‘s case.
The 20-year-old star presented her father, rap icon Lil Wayne, a sweet birthday post of never-before-seen photos of her dad. She took to Instagram on Friday afternoon and wrote, “Happy birthday daddy! I love you so much father ! Not only are you talented but you’re so intelligent and wise. I love getting advice from you keep being great dad!”
One baby photo in particular blew fans away after they realized how much Carter resembled the “How to Love” rapper.
“That 2nd photo is all you girl. You his whole twin. Daddy Girl for sure . AIN’T no other WAY That’s right girl, always be his #1 FAN !”
“You look exactly like him man. Happy G-day to the GOAT the greatest of all time.”
“I never realized how much she looked like her dad! U ya daddy’s child! Happy birthday”
“Awwww little Wayne is adorable this whole time you look smack like him #twins”
Carter is the “Drop the World” rapper’s eldest child, and their father-daughter relationship is tight-knit. So much so that Wayne put the reality TV actress on his last album “The Carter V,” which dropped in September 2018. She claimed that was the greatest gift her father had ever given her.
“That was really big because I’ve been wanting to do a song with my father for so long,” she told Page Six in October, adding that she and Wayne could’ve been the “new Nat King Cole!” The legendary jazz crooner, who died in 1965, was featured in a 1991 duets album, “Unforgettable,” overlaid with new tracks by his daughter Natalie Cole, who died in 2015.
She continued, “I’ve always said that to him, so for him to put ‘Famous’ on the album and it get such a good outlook like everybody loved it on the Billboard charts, that really just made my whole entire life.”
The former “T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle” star is stepping out of her father’s shadow and appears to be making a name for herself in the film industry. She landed a role in Lifetime film “Pride and Prejudice: Atlanta” which premiered in June. She’s also slated to star in TV One’s new holiday film “DEAR SANTA, I NEED A DATE,” which is scheduled to premiere in December.
