Beyoncé has been named People Magazine’s “World’s Most Beautiful Woman,” the first Black woman to have the honor in 9 years, and talks in the feature story about how giving birth to Blue Ivy, the daughter she had with husband Jay-Z, has made her feel more beautiful than ever.
In her feature for People’s annual “World’s Most Beautiful” list, the singer gushes about life with her new baby girl. “”I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” she said. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”
Beyoncé also shared that she sings special songs to her baby and loves to change diapers. “The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy,” said the “Love on Top” singer. “The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z welcomed Blue Ivy into the world on January 7. Forgoing the traditional route of selling their baby’s pictures to a magazine, the world first got a glimpse of little Blue on Beyonce’s personal Tumblr page. When asked who she thought her daughter resembled the most, she remarked “She looks like Blue. She’s her own person.”
The singer is currently preparing for her first concert since giving birth at the Revel in Atlantic City on Memorial Day. According to the magazine, she has lost all of her pregnancy weight.
According to People editor Janet Mock, Beyoncé is the first Black woman to snag the top spot on the “World’s Most Beautiful” list since actress Halle Berry received the honor in 2003.
